I think that Betsy Ross made the flag because she had her own seamstress shop. Her uncle, Colonel Ross, went to the same church as General Washington, and I think that he would have gone to Betsy first before Francis Hopkinson. She also made a paper five-pointed star that looks exactly like the ones on our flag.
